IBTTA Scholarship Program

Established to assist current undergraduate students pursuing a degree in one of the eligible fields listed below.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation's largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or national origin.

Eligibility

Applicants to the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association Scholarship Program must:

Be current college students who have completed both their freshman and sophomore year at the time of application and who are pursuing a degree in one of the following fields:

  • Engineering
  • City and Regional Planning
  • Construction Management
  • Public Policy or Public Administration
  • Other Transportation Related

NOTE: Other degree programs will be considered if they have a demonstrated emphasis on transportation.

  • Be planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to two (2) awards will be granted. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.  

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Applicants are also required to submit a resume demonstrating work that has been done on industry-related activities. Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association. Payments are made in one installment on August 1. 

Obligations

Recipients have no obligation to International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association. They are, however, required to notify Scholarship America of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information, and to send a complete official transcript when requested.

Revisions

International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
