Meeting Cancellation FAQ

IBTTA Meeting Cancellation FAQ as of June 9, 2020

Which IBTTA meetings have been affected so far this year?

We made the decisions to cancel based on guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization about the increasing scope of the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S. and around the world.

What are your plans for other meetings in 2020?

We are working to build out the remaining year with Webinars, Meetups and Virtual Conferences.

Will attendee and exhibitor registrations be refunded?

If IBTTA cancels a meeting, the registrant will have two options:

  • Request a refund by emailing Harry Smith.
  • Request credit for the registration fee towards a future 2020 meeting by emailing Harry Smith. Any unused credit remaining at the end of 2020 will be refunded.

Will you refund exhibitor and sponsorship payments?

If a meeting is canceled, we will provide a refund of your exhibit or sponsorship payment or credit toward an exhibit or sponsorship opportunity at a future event. Please contact Terri Lankford for more details.

What should I do about my hotel and airline reservations?

Please CANCEL your hotel reservations for any meeting not taking place in person. Also, don’t forget to change your transportation arrangements. Many airlines are altering their cancellation and change fees because of the coronavirus outbreak. You should check with your carrier for details.

Yes! We are proceeding as planned with meetings happening in July and beyond. Therefore all participants in a speaking role should prepare and coordinate with IBTTA as you would under normal circumstances.

Will any content be made available virtually?

IBTTA is exploring options to deliver some of the content on a digital platform. Please stay tuned for more details.
