Moving Us Forward: Why Toll Roads?

Why tollroads?

Tolling is complicated and there is a lot of misinformation out there that makes it all the more confusing. IBTTA created this infographic to help educate and inform elected officials, the media and the general public about the benefits of tolling. Tolling has a long proven history, helps fund critical infrastructure that otherwise may not have been built and maintained.  Tolling is a true user fee. If you use it, you pay for it. If you don’t use it, you don’t pay for it. Tolls are used to pay off the bonds that financed the building of the highway, bridge or tunnel and provide a steady stream of revenue to maintain and keep them safe. Federal and state taxes are rarely used on toll facilities.

IBTTA encourages you to read the infographic – Moving Us Forward: Why Toll Roads? and hopes you will share it at Town Halls, service plazas, with business groups, your elected officials and others.
