WASHINGTON, DC – At this week’s International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association’s (IBTTA) Leadership Academy, thirty-one emerging leaders in the transportation industry will converge on Washington, DC for a week-long forum sponsored by the IBTTA Foundation. IBTTA’s Foundation is the research, educational and charitable arm of IBTTA, the worldwide association representing toll facility owners and operators and the businesses that serve them.

The IBTTA Leadership Academy is tailored specifically for senior-level managers in public-and private-sector organizations that serve the toll industry. The course takes place February 9-14, 2014 in Washington, DC, where this year’s participants will learn from a distinguished faculty of leadership and transportation experts including current and former executive directors of toll agencies and concessionaires with international experience. During the week-long course, topics will include transportation policy, managing by metrics, emotional intelligence, developing winning strategies, building partnerships for success and effective communications.

“The IBTTA Leadership Academy is designed to broaden the perspective of some of our industry’s emerging leaders so they may gain a fully developed picture of the multifaceted business of tolling,” said Patrick D. Jones, Executive Director and CEO of IBTTA. “Their time in Washington, DC gives them a unique opportunity to learn from expert faculty and other participants to enhance their role as future leaders in shaping transportation infrastructure around the world.”
