On February 28, the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA) received a letter from the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine requesting that we cancel the membership of all Russian organizations in our association. This request was made because the invasion of Russian military forces throughout Ukraine is in violation of international laws and agreements, and because Russia is using roads to transport military into Ukraine for the purpose of war.

Currently, no Russian organizations are members of IBTTA. We responded to Minister Oleksandr Kubrokov in a letter saying IBTTA "will not accept membership in our association of any organization from Russia. Furthermore, we will not permit any organization or individual from Russia to attend any IBTTA meetings or to participate at all in the meetings and activities of our association.”

“We stand with the rest of the civilized world in condemning the actions of the Russian military in Ukraine and support the aspirations for freedom of the people of Ukraine,” IBTTA said in its response.
