International Tolling Association Elects Samuel Johnson, Transportation Corridor Agencies, Orange County, CA, as 2019 First Vice-President

Johnson will Begin New Term on January 1st, 2019

 

WASHINGTON, DC – The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association’s (IBTTA) has announced the election of Samuel Johnson, Chief Toll Operations Officer for the Transportation Corridor Agencies, as the association’s 2019 First Vice-President. 

 

Johnson was elected 2019 IBTTA First Vice-President during the association’s 86th Annual Meeting & Exhibition held earlier this month in Baltimore, Maryland. The meeting brought together more than 800 transportation leaders from 20 countries to discuss innovative practices, policies, technologies, funding options and business models helping to transform mobility for drivers.  

 

“I am delighted by the confidence and support my colleagues have shown and entrusted with me. I look forward to working with the membership, Board of Directors and fellow Executive Committee members to delivering the very best mobility to our customers around the world. As an industry and society, we face numerous transportation issues, whether funding, congestion, economic growth and livability; I look forward to addressing these issues and putting into place real solutions,” said Samuel Johnson.

 

Johnson will serve as First Vice-President of IBTTA for one year, beginning January 1, 2019. In 2020, he will become President of IBTTA.

As Chief Toll Operations Officer with TCA, Samuel is in charge of strategic planning and daily operations for revenue collection and enforcement, systems development and maintenance; and customer service for the Agencies' 51-mile network of tolled facilities and 325,000 daily customers.

The Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) is comprised of two joint powers authorities -- San Joaquin Hills and Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agencies -- was created to plan, finance, construct and operate Orange County, California’s Toll Road network comprised of State Routes 73, 133, 241 and 261.  The Toll Roads, with $335 million in annual revenue, have been providing a choice for drivers for more than 20 years.  The tolls collected are used to fund debt service issued to construct the 51-mile toll road system, operations and capital projects.
