Local Herndon, Virginia Student Receives Scholarship from International Transportation Association

Patricia Cheng Awarded $5,000 from the International Bridge, Tunnel & Turnpike Association Foundation
to Pursue her Engineering Degree from Case Western Reserve University
Washington, D.C. – Washington, D.C. – The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA), the worldwide association for the owners and operators of toll facilities and the businesses that serve them, announced today that Patricia Cheng of Herndon, VA, who is pursuing an Engineering degree from Case Western Reserve University, has been awarded one of five 2019 scholarships.
Cheng will receive $5,000 from the IBTTA Foundation Scholarship Program designed to assist undergraduate students pursuing degrees in a transportation-related field of study, including engineering; urban and regional planning; construction management; public administration; and other related fields.
“Transportation is rapidly changing across our globe. IBTTA is thrilled to support Patricia in her studies and wishes her the best as she prepares for a bright future in the field of transportation,” said Patrick D. Jones, Executive Director and CEO, IBTTA. “Today’s undergraduates will be the future leaders in transportation and the tolling industry. Patricia and the other scholarship winners represent the best and brightest, who will no doubt be transportation change-agents as innovation and new technologies revolutionize how people move about the country and the world.”

The 2019 scholarship winners will be recognized for their achievement during the Opening Ceremonies of IBTTA’s 87th Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on September 16, 2019.
