If you haven’t renewed your IBTTA membership, you’re a very short time away from missing one of the most important deadlines of the year.

As long as you renew by March 31, your organization will retain all the benefits of being a part of the only organization that speaks for the global tolling industry. Here are the top 10 reasons to renew your IBTTA membership:

10. Hands-On Knowledge: IBTTA members are masters of problem-solving, with all the intricate knowledge and skills they need to run a modern toll facility. As long as you’re part of the network, all of that know-how and experience is just a phone call or email away.

9. Education and Professional Development: Our annual workshop series is divided by subject specialty, to make sure you get the practical information and education you need. From all-electronic tolling and interoperability, to highway finance, to communications and customer outreach, to maintenance and roadway operations, you can always find the event that is exactly right for you.

8. Business Development: IBTTA is where the tolling industry comes to do business. As a consultant or vendor, you get to meet the operators who are changing the face of transportation. As an operator, you get access to the private sector experience and resources that help you get the job done.

7. International Connections: With members in more than two dozen countries, and on six continents, IBTTA is the voice of the global tolling industry. When you meet your colleagues from around the world, you hear about strategies and solutions that may be new to your agency, but well-established elsewhere.

6. A Voice with Legislators: IBTTA’s Moving America Forward campaign is positioning tolling as an essential tool in the transportation funding toolbox. The lessons learned from the campaign will help set the stage for wider advocacy around the world.

5. Cutting-Edge Technology: IBTTA’s Interoperability Committee brings together the world’s best expertise on the highway technologies and back office systems to integrate electronic toll collection across collection systems and regions.

4. Business Intelligence: The economy is changing fast, and emerging trends will have a deep impact on the day-to-day operation of your toll facility. IBTTA keeps watch on the issues that affect the industry, serving as an early warning system for the challenges and opportunities that you need to know about.

3. Next-Generation Leadership: IBTTA is working hard to train and cultivate the next generation of leadership. Our highly acclaimed Leadership Academy delivers the skills that young tolling executives will need to take over the reins, while helping them build professional networks that will last a lifetime.

2. Networking: IBTTA conferences and workshops are the best place to get the pulse of your industry. “Once the conversation gets going, it’s hard to stop,” says one conference participant. “We usually run out of time in the sessions, and then the discussion rolls over into the hallways.”

1. Return on Investment: Your IBTTA membership is an investment that keeps on paying back, giving your organization the knowledge, skills, and networks to thrive in a tough economy.

If you still haven’t renewed your membership, don’t delay! Fill out and return the renewal form you received by mail late last year, or contact Terri Lankford if you need more information.
